Unit 5 – Client Consent
- Ensure the client understands the treatment procedure and will follow up with aftercare and the agreed treatment plan.
- The consent form should identify the following criteria:
- any contra-indications
- the treatment area
- the client is made to understand the possibility of pain
- The Treatment Process
- The client understands expected outcomes.
- The client understands the aftercare procedure.
- The client agrees to follow homecare advice.
- The client is aware of potential risks of the treatment.
- Allow the client time to think about whether they would like to continue with the treatment.
