The following medications have been known to cause abnormal hair growth patterns which may present as hirsutism or hypertrichosis: 

• Oral contraceptives
• Androgens 
• Minoxidil 
• Phenytoin 
• Pencillamine 
• Diazoxide 
• Cyclosporine 
• Corticosteroids 
• Phenothiazines 
• Haloperidol.
